Over 300 talented kids took center stage at VR Punjab's Kids Talent Hunt on Children’s Day, November 14, 2024. Organized in collaboration with Ryan International School and Maxim Merry School and proudly sponsored by Reliance Smart, the event was a grand celebration of youthful creativity and talent. From captivating performances to inspiring displays of artistry, young stars dazzled the audience with their skills. The day was filled with joy, applause, and encouragement, creating unforgettable memories for participants and spectators alike.
On 19th October 2024, the Punjab Art Initiative hosted an engaging talk session at the Punjab Literature Festival held at VR Punjab, featuring two acclaimed personalities—Durjoy Datta and Dr. Ishinna Sadana.
Durjoy Datta, a celebrated Indian author, screenwriter, and entrepreneur known for his popular romance novels, shared insights into his writing journey that has garnered him a massive fan following Dr. Ishinna Sadana, a PhD in Human Development, parenting expert, and acclaimed author, spoke about her book Power to the Parent particularly on topics surrounding personal growth and parenting.
The event included a lively discussion on their respective books and writing processes, followed by a Q&A session where the audience had the opportunity to interact with the authors. The session concluded with a book signing, offering attendees a chance to connect personally with the authors and take home signed copies of their books. It was an inspiring and interactive evening that celebrated literature and its impact on readers.
On October 13, 2024, VR Punjab, in collaboration with the Punjab Art Initiative, proudly hosted the Punjab Literature Festival—a vibrant celebration of Punjabi language, poetry, and cultural heritage. The event brought together an audience of literature enthusiasts, young and old, to honor Punjab’s rich literary legacy and its profound influence on the region's identity.
Renowned poets Mr. Khushbir Singh Shaad, Mr. Mukesh Aalam, Mr. Amardeep Singh 'Amar', Mr. Shamsher Sahil, and Mr. Nand Kishore Anhad took center stage, captivating the audience with recitations that resonated with Punjab’s spirit. Each poet shared verses that delved into timeless themes of love, resilience, community, and the ongoing evolution of Punjab’s linguistic and cultural landscapes. Their powerful words highlighted the depth and diversity of Punjabi literature, engaging listeners in a memorable journey through the region’s literary soul.
The third edition of the Punjab Art Initiative, the public art festival supported by the Yuj Arts Foundation, was inaugurated on September 29, 2024, with the theme “Transcending Boundaries.” Inaugurated by the finance minister of Punjab, Mr. Harpal Singh Cheema, the day also featured the unveiling of the "Kala Car," live music performances, and a live sand art show. Highlights included a miniature painting session and workshops by students from Chandigarh University. With over 300 art installations, sculptures on display, the festival also features collaborations with UNESCO and Chandigarh Tourism- Le Corbusier Centre, and Arts for the future festival powered by United Nations Civil Society Conference. Punjab Art Initiative serves as a vibrant platform for artistic expression and community engagement, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Punjab.

Chitkara Mandi was a heartwarming philanthropic event with nine stalls, attracting over 1000 visitors. It showcased handmade products supporting various causes, with sales proceeds directed to the organizations. The Thalassemia blood donation camp held at VR Punjab aimed to support patients affected by Thalassemia, an inherited blood disorder. This camp focused on improving the well-being of these patients who have lived with the condition since birth. The event offered free medical check-ups, including blood pressure and random blood sugar tests, and consultations with doctors, skin care specialists, and dieticians. Additionally, 100+ attendees had the opportunity to undergo free and discounted cholesterol, creatinine, and thyroid tests at a nominal cost. The camp was organized with Mr. Nitin's consent and approval, ensuring attendees a valuable and comprehensive healthcare experience.

The highlight of the camp, however, was the NERF Strike Game – the first of its kind ever to be held in the nation.

PAI 2019 concluded the month-long art celebrations by turning the basement of the center into a canvas for breathtaking graffiti. As artists from Punjab painted the walls of VR Punjab in colors of their creativity, we saw strong social messages come to life.
Punjab Art Initiative 2nd Edition saw the many manifestations of art with the Art Bazaar, which provided a platform to Punjabi craftswomen that encouraged them to display local handicrafts and preserve the heritage of the state.
VR Punjab saw over 100 patrons come together to watch the Bollywood golden-classic, “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” underneath the stars at the Centre on 14th April. This was an exclusive experience created for the first-time in association with our event partner, Steppin’ Out.
Baisakhi celebrations took shape in the form of delicious food, great music and dance. The festival of harvest also saw the traditional bhangra & giddah performances, without which Baisakhi is incomplete. A special Baisakhi installation at the lifestyle destination made many pose in front of it and take home memories.
Children’s Art Competition Baisakhi and PAI 2019 came together in the form of Children’s Art Competition where 800+ kids showcased their interpretation of the harvest festival through unique drawings and paintings.

VR in Love Season 2 made a bigger and better comeback in 2019. This love campaign was executed with Red FM 93.5 as our principal media partner. December started with a tribute ti the ever-fashionable Denim. Brands showcased classic and new interpretations of this fabric for all seasons. The finale, held in association with our radio partner MY FM, was particularly exciting. Eight shortlisted candidates raced against each other in a treasure hunt and the winner was rewarded with the grand prize of a Bajaj Pulsar.

VR Punjab ushered in the holiday season with traditional Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. Attended by children from an NGO along with RJ Gagan of MY FM fame, the event truly encapsulated the Christmas spirit of spreading the joy. Awestruck audiences marvelled at the 40-foot tree and indulged in delicious cakes and cookies.

Little ones got a chance to play Arctic Explorers as LEGO invited them to let their imagination run free. Using LEGO bricks, children were asked to create their vision of the Arctic World. The result was a spectacular showcase of creativity, which left both participants and onlookers enthralled. The young participants were awarded vouchers from Hamleys and Fun City.
VR Punjab in association with NGO Prasanchetas and National Buzz gave 5 to 12 an opportunity to express what "Love" meant to them, through a picture, a scene or poster.
To make Diwali shopping even more exciting, VR Punjab hosted a grand shopping festival - Shoputsav, where prizes ranged from vouchers to TVS Jupiter scooters and Hyundai Santro, along with refrigerators, watched, furniture, mobiles, electronics and more. Usha Sharma, the lucky winner of the Hyundai Santro, was handed over the key amidst much cheering at the spectacular grand finale.
Mela Mitran Da - TriCity's Traditional Diwali Mela; recreated the magic of Diwali celebrations at VR Punjab. From handcrafted toys, ethnic wear to things to dress up the house with; there was shopping galore. The Mela had a line-up of cultural performances that everyone compelled to be a part of. There was also a range of lip-smacking 'mela specials' such as chaats, sweets and more.
Time flies by when you are having fun, VR Punjab organized a fun-filled time for our women patrons this Karwa Chauth, to help them tide over the day and bond with each other. The Centre organised makeovers, Nail art, stalls selling karwa staples and a communal pooja. All the women looked gorgeous in their traditional outfits and professional makeovers by EOSS Salon.

True to its tagline 'Khushiyon ki Ladi," Diwali Maujanwali, brought with it a lot of joy to many families. The end of Dussehra Dhoom was marked by a new style of telling the story of Ramayana. The Centre showcased the epic legend through a Nukkad Natak that had viewers fully regaled and engaged. The modern depiction also made it more relatable for youngsters.
No one dances like a Punjabi, whatever the dance form and our patrons had the chance to prove the same at the 'Mirchi Rock 'n' Dhol Night". Organised by Radio Mirchi, the Bollywood inspired Dandiya night attracted dance enthusiasts from all over the Tricity.

The amphitheatre at VR Punjab was filled choc-c-block as fans of comedians Kapil Sharma and Gurpreet Ghuggi travelled from far and wide to meet them. Them along with Navjot Singh Siddhu, Minister of Local Government, Tourism, Cultural Affairs and Museums, Government of Punjab and other members of the cast of the upcoming movie, "Son of Manjeet Singh".
It was a big occasion for us as VR Punjab turned One. VROne, the first anniversary celebrations were a truly festive affair that featured a diverse bouquet of events that appealed to a wide variety of consumers.
To ensure that our patrons are prepared for the upcoming wedding season, VR Punjab hosted Wedding Box Season 2, on popular demand. The three-day event extravaganza showcased everything one needs to plan the perfect wedding. The exhibition featured designers, wedding planners, jewellers, photographers, caterers and even astrologers, among others.
